So I come here and find out why we are an hour ahead. I just listened to what I sent Jeff again starting at #50 and skimmed through it, it is fine here. The only thing I can think of is when I zip the files to him, something may go wrong with compression?

I don't know the hour started fine & then the player buffered & the play started almost freezing & fast forwarding buffering a lot but the whole hour took about 20 minutes. Then the rest of the show played fine.

If there is no room on the schedule to replay hour 5, then would you consider replaying the top 50 of 1989 on the next regular AT40: the shadoe years slot. I'm sure a lot of people missed this one since it was overnight and I would love to hear the portion that was missed. It seems a shame to run the yearend shows once when the regular shows get aired four times normally. Anyway, thanks for the shows every week. They are great to hear again.

We are not far ahead. The show block IS for 8 hours but each show is far shorter than that amount of time.. Especially since I didn't put in a lot of ads.

I did check and the file seems fine. The player must've screwed it up a bit. That or it was internet problems on the listeners end. Not sure to be honest. But we seem to be on track.

What's odd is I recorded it on the VLC & decided to break it into 2 parts of 4 hours so I cut it off just before the mess up & then recorded the last 3 hours & I can put them with the 5th hour of the radio recorded copy I have.

I downloaded the Christmas show from the facebook post link. If I don't listen before I'll listen to it at work around next Christmas.

Went to sleep at midnight local time during #64. Just woke up to see I lost the entire 2nd half of 1989. When the show starts skipping during #50, my player crashed and never came back. So I got four hours of silence

I'm surprised the show is that far off from 8 hours as I left all the original ads in. So it should run as originally aired back in the day. BTW, the reason for no extras is most of the songs that would have qualified (just missing the Top 100) were already played as an extra on a regular show.

Jeff, Thanks so much for giving us the downloads of your Christmas show. I actually recorded The Gold Rush on Saturday, then started recording yours, left for a few hours, came back and I had lost the stream about 1 1/2 hours into the show. Thanks again.

I think Connect.com & 1-800-LENS went out of business because people got sick of their ads. They need to be hit upside the head with THE CLUB.

I enjoyed last years marathon but I think I enjoyed this years more. There is 2 reasons 1. last year I had just cleaned up water in the basement & 2. thanks to the VLC recorder I recorded 2 of this years shows. My next project is to record the 80's "B" show this weekend which is part 1 of the Top 100 Of 1987 to go with the part 2 I have a MP3 of. Back in 1988 I recorded the whole Top 100 on a 2 hour cassette by just recording Casey's intro or outro of each song. If I'd knew it was going to be his last AT40 year-end show I would've recorded the whole show like I did 1985 & 1986. BTW Shadoe said the 1993 show was sponsored by Nicoderm funny I didn't hear an ad for it you'd think they could've replaced one of the 50 Connect.com or 1-800-LENS ads.

I really enjoyed the "Classic Rock Spotlight Countdowns" marathon yesterday. I listened to 5 of the shows. What chart do you use before Billboard started a Rock chart in 03/1981? You mentioned that "My Sharona" was #1 for 12 weeks in 1979.

I used a combination of rock songs on the pop charts, popular LP cuts of that week in time, which was aided by a few radio station lists I was given.

Listening to the Top 50 Of The 70's let me say this You Light Up My Life isn't MY #1 song of the 70's hell it isn't even #101. I'd rather hear the Henhouse Five Plus Two (aka Ray Stevens') In The Mood, Rick Dees' Disco Duck & C.W McCall's Convoy instead of it anytime.
