FYI, Part 2 (Top 50) of the One Hit Wonders of the 80's started at 2:30 EST. I believe this show is after the 1-30-82 show. According to Jeff (previous post)... on the first go round of the schedule it was a 70's OHW wonder show. Up next I believe will be the 2-1-69 show.

I'm pretty positive the Rolling Stones one is a part of the mix.

Listening to the 'lost' episode--3/22/75, which is just two weeks after another 1975 countdown featured on the schedule. By the way, Autobahn by Kraftwerk is a featured 'extra' --and I have been on that famous highway in Germany and I love the word for exit in German--Ausfahrt.

I lived in a small village in Germany when i was a kid (army brat) from 1977-79. It was about 20 miles from the base where my stepfather was stationed. I have been on the Autobahn as well, yeah "Ausfahrt" cracked me up too! My favorite place to go in the village was the the small ice cream shop and the train station in the middle of "town". Next to the train station was a "pub" where you could always smell Wienerschitnzel cooking. In front of that pub was the bus stop where i would wait for the school bus every day. Leave it to Germans to put a bus stop for kids right in front of a tavern/pub.

Here in Germany especially in small villages the important things (small grocery store, a small bank branch and the pub) are close together and the bus stop is also near by. I´ve been grown up in a small village of 900 people and it looked in the 70s when I was a teenager excatly as I described. Today the bus stop for the pupils is still there. The grocery store the bank branch and also the pub did not survive the changes of the last 40 years... adam31 where was your stepfather stationed in Germany?
If somebody wants to take a long trip on the "Autobahn" here´s the 22min. long version

roadrunner, My stepfather was stationed in Baumholder, the village I lived in was called Nohen. Sorry to hijack Jeff's schedule thread, but this is one of the best things about our community. One thing is said, and then it branches to something else Amazing how djjoe1960 's post about the Autobahn song sparked my memories!

(I was hoping for the Rolling Stones but the Stevie special is excellent!) I just looked when I updated a couple of new shows into the mix, the recent shows from syndication. The Rolling Stones are not in this group. But they will probably be in the new update when we change them in April or May.

As long as it's not hate speech or political I don't care what's posted on here as long as it has something in a way to do with one of the show's. Which it did so no biggie.

LOVE that song :-) Feel free to post office or even one of the good old-fashioned chart critiques if you'd like. I always love to know people's thoughts on our stories as well as the songs we play.

RIP Mary Wilson. I think I saw that Replay Radio (UK) ran the MERC Supremes special? Unfortunately I missed it. Maybe add it to the WBME rotation next time?
