Does anyone know if they used a printed chart for American Dance Traxx? It was a Westwood One show, but R&R didn't have a Dance chart when the show existed.

From what I know, they didn't use a printed chart for American Dance Traxx. They used their own chart just for this show. That did seem to be a possibility based on what the (brief) Wiki article for the show says. I wondered if maybe there was a printed chart in a different publication (other than Billboard - I figure that them using Billboard wouldn't have been something that was forgotten) that got used here.

The Rick Dees show for tomorrow is listed as 03/20/89, which is a Monday. Rick's shows are usually dated on Saturday so that everyone uses the same date for the same show. Is it 03/18/89? The sure shot for 03/18/89 is "Hearts on Fire" by Steve Winwood.

Taking a second look at the schedule will be all that's needed. mitchm, the show provided is Rick Dees On the Line. I believe that's a daily show he did on weekdays (just like, say, On Air With Ryan Seacrest is now) - the point is, it's NOT a Weekly Top 40 countdown.

That was the date I got from the trading site..... but I can check the Radio and Records Syndicated Shows section to get the correct date and leave you guys an update. Update: Rick Dees On the Line show that's going to air on Monday had a broadcast date of March 20 - March 26, 1989. The source is from page 45 here: worldradiohistory.com/Archive-RandR/1980s/1989/RR-1989-03-10.pdf and I can confirm that it has an air date of somewhere in the weekdays since I have the cue sheet for another RDOL show. By the way, it's a weekly show but R&R put it in the daily section because it only aired on weekdays. And one more thing, over 125 affiliates carried the show worldradiohistory.com/Archive-Ratings-Directories/RandR-Guides/RRR-Program-Supplier-Guide-89.pdf.

Well, I was half right.
They're way off on the first air date for the weekly Top 40 (1/1/87? No.), but it's interesting that that was up to 375 affiliates by that point. AT40 is 500+ while there isn't yet a count for Casey's Top 40 (listed as New).
This also appears to be one of the earliest shows for On the Line, with a start date listed of 3/6/89 (two weeks before this one).

I got some ideas for the Listener Depot if you run short of shows. 1. CT40 Shows 2. 80's AT40 guest hosted shows (since Premiere won't play them & I like CVD & crew) 3. Shadoe Era guest hosted shows (unless you plan to play some Wednesdays because it was fun hearing the musical acts host. I'd also like to hear if you have them any hosted by co-stars of Shadoe's various TV shows)

Great ideas, all will be considered. Someone wrote me about Casey's Top 40 the other day and I got some more Dick Clark Countdown America shows. Those will be coming as we go along.

Can you please give me more information about the Dick Clark Countdown America shows sent even just the decade they are? I am going to trade for more Dick Clark shows for Listener Depot and I don’t want to get duplicate shows. I have spent a lot of time getting shows to trade for this person and I want to spend them very wisely. Also, why not have a random show day like what SiriusXM 70s on 7’s does with Wheel of Casey? Make this random show thing a mystery show that doesn’t get announced until it airs.

In theory that could be do-able on a given week with the Depot, though it'd be better to have that established first (I.E. wait a month or several weeks or so).

I do like however to inform our listeners what will be playing for their investment of time.

Ray Parker Jr. sounded a lot like Madonna. I guess the song ID'er isn't 100% perfect. BTW does every AT20 have Desree's "You Gotta Be" in it?

I used an autotagger to attempt naming my music library but some of them ended up incorrect. As I find them, I am going through correcting, it will take a while.

I hate "auto-tagging" functions in Windows Media Player - much too often for my taste, whenever I play a show, WMP will attempt to "find" media information for it, which has resulted in multiple instances of wackily obscure music releases having their info grafted onto the file. Now, that obviously doesn't affect filenames, but it does affect IDs, which is just annoying.

As another note, "Motownphilly" is labeled as "Two Tickets To Paradise".

And now... Now... NOW... Is this what it was like those first few weeks when a given show wouldn't play in the morning for whatever reason? Nothing but silence in its place?

Yes and it sucks, but automation doesn't do what we want sometimes!.....We are running now with Listener Depot, show provided by Snuggles. I will try to repeat it again immediately and it should run correctly at 8pm tonight.

I listened to the 03/24/91 American Dance Traxx show this past Friday and found it very enjoyable. I heard many songs I wasn't familiar with from that era. I'll be listening to 07/21/90 this Friday.

Thanks for reminding me to get rid of those. I have over 2000 songs in the library and add more all the time. Some of them were done in a bulk dump. Again you never know what you may hear on this station lol.
