BTW I downloaded the Top 40 Satellite Survey from Soundcloud but the Katrina & The Waves song failed copyright. I found an edited version on youtube & edited the song in between Dan's intro & outro I think I did a decent job that's also why there is an ad before it the edited copy had some ads. I should've put more in.

Oddly enough, I had guessed 94 + 02 would have been this [past] week rather than next.

Was kind of hoping we'd get 3/5/94 as I had downloaded it from your old 4-shared page & remember commercials for USA Networks Duckman & Weird Science in it. Of course it's on my old crashed computer with a lot of great old WBME stuff. I REALLY should try to get the stuff off the hard drive.

^ Oh, deja vu - it only took me like 3 years and change to get stuff off my old laptop that quit starting up on me. Most shows I keep on an external, but there were some I hadn't yet gotten to. I was only finally able to retrieve them back at the beginning of December.

I'm trying to give a good variety of years and as many new shows as possible.

If so, then no big deal as this is Listener Depot and nobody can expect perfection. I think most would agree it is just good to hear other older shows. EDIT: just found out it is only shorter because Satellite Survey was a 3 hour show and not 4 hours like AT40.

If so, does anyone know if any Music Expert Retro Countdowns are on either? I've listened to all of the downloaded shows from the Facebook page, and was hoping to stream some others, as the show is great.

Here's a shameless plug for mine : www.mixcloud.com/SoNotTheDrama/Snuggles has one too: www.mixcloud.com/ponderous/So does at40fansince1984: www.mixcloud.com/TheDogsPlayTheGoodPoo/ (replace the word Poo with the S word) ALL HAIL THE RRS CHAT!Thanks all. I followed all the pages and try WBME often looking for 1980s Cashbox countdown shows. So far, no luck finding Jeff Michaels shows on Mixcloud.

Jeff Michaels should REALLY put his old shows on Mixcloud, he could gain so many new fans. If not, can the MERC stream be AT LEAST 128kbps MP3? The 64kbps MP3 stream sounds like trash to be honest. Imagine if Jeff Michaels lost another show again and the only recording we have is 64kbps MP3. That would be a bummer.

I'm hoping more episodes of Top 40 Satellite Survey make it to the Listener Depot!

Big bummer to not hear your copy regardless of the shape the records are, I would have preferred to hear it in stereo with all of the network ads. I'm in the same boat as at40fansince1984, having a poor mono copy and having some of the networks ads cut out. I have a very fair offer waiting for you in the DMs.

So much for not doing guest-hosted shows, eh? And 1991 is definitely coming back a little sooner than I thought it would. Though the funny thing is, 1984 had been hoping for 3/5/94 until 2/26 went up this week...well, the Flashback for 3/5 is in fact the 1991 week we'll get instead. Also - Dick Clark's Countdown America was an AC show...what was the National Music Survey?

Some information about this weeks American Dance Traxx that I reorded on Hamburgs hit95 Ok Radio at April 24 1993 - not september! If you look at the Billboard Hot100 and compare 2-24-93 with 9-25-93 then you see that all songs played on this ADT show just fit to 4-24-1993. Especially PM Dawn´s Looking through patient eyes is very short - that´s because my cassette came to the end. That happens also with Rozalla and "Faith in the power of love". The American dance traxx jingle was never broadcast on OK Radio. I recorded it on AFN from medium wave! and inserted it at the end of the two tracks.

It's based on the Radio and Records pop chart top 30 from 2/3/84 if Quiet Riot is #29 on this airing. I enjoyed this show from the Dees Sleaze Mixcloud feed.

Also - Dick Clark's Countdown America was an AC show...what was the National Music Survey? The whole NMS/CA thing is a mess but here is what I think happened. Around 1984, the National Music Survey added AC. So the National Music Survey had both CHR and AC choices until around March/April 1986, somewhere in the Bill St. James/Mike Love era and became exclusively AC until that show ended which is the Bill Maier and Sylvia Aimerito era, in mid to late 1990. Dick Clark's Countdown America I believe was initially CHR, just like the 1983-1985 John Leader era, but somewhere in July 1986 it became AC only. I suggest that you have a look in this thread as hothitzdj does a much better job explaining this: at40fg.proboards.com/thread/1646

And how! Props for uncovering this...I know that Hervard, in particular, over there has frequently mentioned other shows as ones he used to catch over the years, but these would be scattered mentions that come up from time to time - I.E. it wasn't all information centered in one location like this is. I wasn't sure if there would have been a thread for "other [various] countdowns" or not. But in any case, the 1991 Countdown America show a couple of weeks ago would seem to have been in the latter part of that show's run (note: I haven't yet finished reading at this typing, I just took a break to post this), whereas Monday's National Music Survey is in the later part of the original Dick Clark era, but as far as Dick hosting countdowns goes, it's in the first third or so. (ETA: Yow - would not have guessed he continued doing countdowns all the way up until his stroke. )

Hi Adam, please check the stream - just silence atm though text says Metal Mountain Back up, thanks! Automation had a freeze, hope it don't happen anymore. I count myself lucky to only be down twice since we started broadcasting. The other the PC just decided to shut off on its own. Some of you may have heard Bon Jovi's "Runaway" "skip to my lou" a few times lately. I would like to say that's part of the early 90s authentic experience. but it reall had to do with my trashed "CrossRoads" CD (scratches and marks all over it lol) , even ripping it to digital did not help it lol. I have got rid of it!

Although he was quite heroic in his appearances thereafter (on New Years' Rockin' Eve), it was so painful for me to watch him go through that. He is up there with Casey Kasem on my Mt Rushmore of entertainment legends. Glad he was able to do his countdowns until that time. His style was always a treat and thanks to all our listeners for sharing them again. So much for not doing guest-hosted shows, eh? There's even more! After John Leader got kicked out of Countdown America, he started his own show in 1986 called Countdown USA. John hosted that show for a year and that was the last countdown show John Leader ever hosted. In 1987, Dave Scholin became the host of Countdown USA. In 1990, Westwood One cancelled Countdown USA and Dave Scholin moved to Premiere Networks. There, Dave started the short-lived Dave Sholin's Inside Top 40 and later another short-lived show called Dave Sholin's Insider. After that, Dave created a "Future Hits" clone called "Fast Track" and that didn't work out either. Dick Clark's Countdown America ran until 1994, when Clark sold Unistar to Westwood One Radio. The following year, Clark started over, building a new version of the United Stations Radio Network and a new countdown show: "The U.S. Music Survey". He served as its host until his 2004 stroke.
