Two parts, what's your favorite classic rock artist and what's your favorite deep cut by them.
You can list more than one. Just want to program more of YOUR favorites!

I like them but I wouldn't say they're my favorite rock artist but here's a triple play I'd play. Dire Straits 1. Sultans Of Swing 2. Twisting By The Pool (deep cut I think) 3. Money For Nothing (full version because I know WBME has the cojones to play it) {I think it's sad that the Brothers In Arms album is the only place to get it any compilation has the edited version}

Not really, but they're great songs.
Feel free to post more than one. Go deep. We love playing the not so heard stuff!

Great idea and 2 of my favorites (Huey Lewis and Dire Straits) are already mentioned - so here are 2 more I would love to hear: Journey It could have been you Seperate ways (worlds apart) Send her my love Genesis: Mama Land of confusion Abacap Saw Phil Collins last week on BBC´s Sound of the 80s - pity that he isn´t able to do live shows any more. Unfortunatly I never took the opportunity to go to see him live performing.

All noted and many will be in there. Not necessarily the 3 in one set, that depends if we call something a deep cut or not. Mama is in between a deep cut and one that should be played/was a single. Couple Days Off is more of a single than a deep cut...
BUT all will get added to the mix!

You're seriously gonna put in the Floyd cut? I'm not even joking, that is an amazing 9 1/2 minutes of psychedelia. That version is one of my favorite songs of theirs.

I just played "A Saucerful Of Secrets" for my wife and kids. The kids (ages 2, 3 and 5) all loved it. My wife, not so much. She said "this was either recorded for people on acid or by people on acid. Probably both."

I used Whitburn's/Billboard's definition of "Classic Rock" which is songs 1980 or earlier, and this is a list of songs that should be played on your music mixes. Some are already being played, and some would fit better on Wednesday's Wacky hits because there just aren't 3 hits, but it is a list you can start with. Most of these will fit well on the Thursday triple play mix. I did not try to find any "deep cuts" because I have never been an album person - I just hear what is played on the radio.
AC/DC - You Shook Me All Night Long Beatles - Please Please Me Beatles - Back in the USSR Black Oak Arkansas - Uncle Lijah Blues Magoos - We Ain't Got Nothin Yet Canned Heat - Let's Work Together Cars - Moving in Stereo Cars - Let's Go Spencer Davis Group - Gimme Some Lovin Deep Purple - Woman From Tokyo Devo - Whip It Doors - Break On through to the Other Side Doors - Riders on the Storm Head East - Never Been Any Reason Heart - Crazy On You Heart - Straight On King Crimson - Court of the Crimson King Kings - Switchin to Glide/This Beat Goes On Monkees - I'm Not Your Stepping Stone Moody Blues - Tuesday Afternoon Nazareth - Hair of the Dog Pink Floyd - Time Pink Floyd - Us and Them Ram Jam - Black Betty Rolling Stones - Let's Spend the Night Together Rolling Stones - She's So Cold Roxy Music - Love Is the Drug Mitch Ryder - Devil With the Blue Dress On Mitch Ryder - Sock It to Me Baby Seeds - Pushin Too Hard Bob Seger - Katmandu Simon & Garfunkel - I Am a Rock Simon & Garfunkel - A Hazy Shade of Winter Strawberry Alarm Clock - Incense & Peppermints Three Dog Night - Easy to Be Hard Yardbirds - Over Under Sideways Down Yes - Close to the Edge

Some are great tunes and will definitely get played Thursday's. Others for better on Tues or Wed. Some of them are more "oldies" like The Monkees rather than classic rock...

Some are great tunes and will definitely get played Thursday's. Others for better on Tues or Wed. Some of them are more "oldies" like The Monkees rather than classic rock... I agree with you pretty much 100%, but what I did was start with the "Classic Rock Tracks" listed in the back of Whitburn's Billboard Rock Tracks book (1981-2008) and all the songs I listed are found there. You should see some of the ones I skipped because they are really not considered "rock" by purists. I also selected songs that no longer are receiving much airplay on most stations that I listen to, but I won't be too upset if any of the songs I picked are declared to be "not rock".
