What new shows, maybe even approximately when they're gonna be played, and what's with this "one that's not exactly new"... spill the beans Michaels... people gotta know... :-) Don't make me send Sgt. lol. James Murphy is retiring his 2 shows that we air and once he's back in the studio recording, we will debut them on the schedule. Not sure if older episodes of MIA and Pure Grooves will stay on or not. Depends on how people feel about them. One of them will begin airing on Tuesdays in place of "Classic Metal Mountain". The other will be on Fridays in place of Pure Grooves. But both are only 2 hours in length so there will be a shift somewhere.... But the other airs in a 3 hour block on Wednesdays you say.... What will go there... Well 1979, 1980, 1981 and a brief snippet of 1982 has some say..... Any guesses?

hmmm.... I'm probably the least intelligent about what shows there are... I'm kind of a one (or two) trick pony... AT40, ACC... of course I now also know about CBC, MERC, and RWM shows... but that may be about it... either way, thanks for the info. Still love this station. Friday and Gannon listen to it in their patrol car too I believe :-)

Nah. I think that ran longer. But it is a count down.... One I have been asked for too!

My guess is the Weekly Top 30 w/Mark Elliot.

The Weekly Top 30 debuts in April!

My question for everyone is this.
Should we go in order with what we have (approx 70 episodes) or should we skip around a bit.
I cannot do it date wise like on weekend AT40 and ACC. Not enough date wise...

By the way, I have one copy of the show that I got when the show was pitched to me back in 1980--it is for a week in June 1981 (All Those Years Ago by George Harrison at #1)
Let me know if you need it and I will send you a copy.
Oh and I vote for going in order/
Joe

I agree playing them in order sound good. Also do you know what charts it was based on.

Not sure. I think their own charts.
Joe, what's the date of the show?

After making a search I found a trading site that listed the dates of the show. There was one guest hosted show & that was June 6 1981 by Rick Dees so I guess this was his inspiration for wanting to start his own show.

That was one inspiration, the other is that ABC after they bought Watermark ripped AT40 away from KIIS for refusing to air tons of network ads. KIIS then created their own countdown with Rick. It's interesting to note though that AT40 was back on KIIS (at least for year or more) around the time Shadoe took over even though Rick Dees was still doing his now nationwide show!

Not sure. I think their own charts. Joe, what's the date of the show? Weekly Top 30 used their own charts (supposedly the Countdown Computer). The show date is June 20, 1981.

Oh well, that's the way it goes.
By the way, the so called countdown computer used to calculate the weekly charts used on the show were reportedly an average of many of the national trades (Billboard, Cash Box, Record World, Variety, etc.). Although, Drake-Chenault, the producers of the program never officially confirmed that information.

I agree playing them in order sound good. Also do you know what charts it was based on. Looks like I'm outvoted, but I would prefer a random order so it's a surprise what's coming and you don't hear a lot of the same songs week to week.

I may do what I do with ACC shows. There's a lot of time where I have consecutive weeks, so I skip over a week so its not as predictable. They'll be played next time through.
We'll have to see.
