Did anyone else come here for the AT40 shows but found other shows they like as well? I haven't listened to any of the Retro Countdowns yet but I'm thinking about checking out the Weird Al special.

Many have. Try them out. Depending on what you like music wise. I'm sure we have some show you would also like. Especially my countdowns!!

I think I'm going to check out the Weird Al show but it probably won't be until the Saturday rebroadcast since I have to work Monday & I like to watch WWE Monday Night Raw that night. If I miss the Saturday show maybe you'll put a mp3 up as that would be perfect music to pass a slow early morning of working.

I started listening at #20 & this is classic to have all my favorite Weird Al songs in one place. Would love to have a copy to listen to anytime plus I know a couple of Weird Al fans that would love it. A question about the show is it just for weeks of the 60's & 70's & specials because I would be interested in hearing weeks from the 90's since AT40 decided to change from using the Hot 100.

Did anyone else come here for the AT40 shows but found other shows they like as well? I haven't listened to any of the Retro Countdowns yet but I'm thinking about checking out the Weird Al special. The AT40 shows with Casey are great, but I originally came (about 3 months ago) for the 60's countdowns that are occasionally done. There is a lot of programming and songs that WBME plays that are almost impossible to find anywhere else without paying for them (like on XM). I am not listening for the Top 10 songs on a countdown, I am listening for #25 to #40, so the more countdowns the better. I really enjoy the music/countdowns from pre-07/1970 and post 08/1988 - they are hard to find elsewhere. The non-traditional countdowns are good (like Weird Al, "Rain" songs, One Hit Wonders, and Queen), but nothing beats the 1960's countdowns for me - I wish they could be run weekly. I am really looking forward to the upcoming countdowns on Lost Hits and Top Canadian songs, also.

The shows Jeff does (The Jeff Michaels Show) about a particular band are great as well. Really enjoyed the episodes on Belly and Oasis. Not the normal type where they only play the hits. He actually plays the deep, obscure stuff.

Cranberries this week If you like the other Alternative shows...
It depends on what comes up. I'd say 60's wise, we'll have 20-25 at least per year. Plus some 70's ones.
The last two weeks of the year will be a top 100 of a 60's year...
No plans on even doing 80's shows, let alone 90's.

Nice to see some other user comments I was about to think I was the only one. I agree with mitchm that I like hearing the non top 20 peaking AT40 songs that don't get as much airplay today. I started with the 80's shows but have been listening to more 70's shows lately & discovering songs I knew of but not who they were by & have found some new novelty/comedy songs that I like. I also like that they play guest host, more special shows, Shadoe Shows & Casey's Top 40 & it's fun to hear the original commercial too. But I've been listening to other shows lately like some of the "Metal Mountain" shows before AT40. But I especially love the "Wipe Their Asses With It" promo that is so funny.

We are glad you have checked out other shows. That is the main reason we are here. We only play AT40 because we love the show and love Casey and its our tribute to the great job he did over the years.
We also hope you listen to one or more of the music mixes. The new Two For Tuesday will be amazing and talk about lost hits, HOLY COW! Of course all the mixes have the lost hits no one else has the sack to play!
And we're glad you like the wipe their asses one. We try to make it funny too!

Jeff.
Today's Queen show was outstanding! I'd never heard "Dog With A Bone" (or much else from this period) and I don't get 1) how it didn't make the album and 2) wasn't a single. Great song!

It was mainly a jam and used as a song for the fan convention. But I agree, it's a great tune!

"The Invisible Man" and "Was It All Worth It" also great tracks. Sad that most everyone (myself included until yesterday) only knows "I Want It All" from this period.

There's three more albums we'll go through before we repeat all the albums. Then it'll be on to their solo careers.

I do listen to about 40% of the AT40's you play during the "Casey" years - if I've heard the show in the last 3 years or so I usually skip it. I am also so happy that you play the "guest-hosted" shows - as much as I love Casey, I listen for the music. I haven't listened to too many "Jeff Michaels Shows" yet, but I did listen to the Cranberries this past week. I'll have to try to squeeze in more shows of Jeff's. My favorite music mix of WBME is Wacky Wednesday - I've been listening every week lately. I am glad that it is being expanded come September. In fact, every program change that has been made lately meets my approval - keep up the good work. I counted up how many hours I listened to WBME for the week 07/27 - 08/02 and I came up with 28 hours - I was surprised it was so many. I did listen to the Top 100 from 1988 that weekend because that is a year when I wasn't listening so much back in the day - I was listening to a 60's oldies station at that time. I am so glad I am now retired - I could never listen to 28 hours in a week if I was still working 40+ hours a week as I was 5 months ago.

Mitch, you'll love Tuesdays! The Wacky mix goes Two fer Tuesday!
I'm glad you like us and our music.
If you have a station in your area that might be interested in either my countdown show or Gold Rush... Those are ones we'd like to syndicate...

I saw on the Shadoe thread that the Friday morning AT40/CT40 series will probably be up through 01/1995 by mid-summer. Will that series end at that time, or do you have enough CT40 and other countdowns after 01/95 to continue for awhile? I would certainly love to hear whatever countdowns you have after 01/95 - I don't think many other stations are airing them at this time. If and when this Friday series starts over, I would like to see you mix in all the miscellaneous countdowns you have in your archive. I am not familiar with many of the misc. countdowns you have, but the one I am mainly thinking of is the classic rock spotlight countdown - I know you have several from the 70's and 80's. I have never heard any of these but I did hear the one you played of Christmas songs, and that was excellent, and my guess is that these are similar (a top 30) with rock music. (Can you tell I'm a real countdown freak)? I am really very pleased with the January/February programming you have lined up for us - thanks for listening.

I have 3 or 4 post 1-28-95 shows. I will air them after that one. I hadn't decided if I was going to start over or air something else.
As for the Classic Rock Spotlight Countdown, It has 3 months worth of episodes including the Christmas one. It originally ran from November 2011 thru January 2012.
I could air them again at some point.

I'd like to see you cycle through again. It seems that every time it's getting close to a period I enjoy the order or schedule gets reset.

Yeah I'd like to hear them restart again too as I missed some of the Shadoe shows from 88- mid 90 the first time.
