Interesting to note I wasn't the only one with trouble. Strange it would react like that if it is indeed due to it being in mono. I just let my recorder go and leave and it doesn't stop recording that show just buffers for the hour or so and in the parts it did play for 10 seconds here or there it was sped up real fast. But as sooon as it was over, everything was fine again. The origianl run of joel denver future hits ran from 1984-1995

I'm looking forward to hearing the 1-15-83 AT40. I was a college senior and general manager of my college radio station at that time. I did a brief internship that January (between semesters) at WHTT, a Boston Top 40 station in those days. (They were located at the top of the Prudential Tower, if you're familiar with Boston architecture.) They didn't do a countdown on air, but I collected data from record stores for the promotional surveys they gave away featuring the station's local chart. I remember the PD saying he thought Duran Duran's Hungry Like The Wolf would never be a big hit. I thought otherwise. It was one week away from the Billboard 40 on 1-15-83. Your story of picking "Hungry Like The Wolf" as a hit, reminds me one of my proudest moments picking a "future hit". I picked "Hold On" by Wilson Phillips as a hit before anyone had heard of them. We always got promotional CDs from record companies at my station, I remember heaps of them (20 a day probably) most by people you never heard of. I suggested to my PD that this was a real good song and we should be playing it, therefore we were one of the first stations to play the song in the whole country, this was mid to late 1989. Of course, they would later go on to hit #1. Nice going on the prediction!

I expected a countdown of the Top 100 Of The 70's. This is more like a year-by-year review of the top songs & events of each year that spent the 1st hour recapping the 60's.

Ugh! I missed the last Weekly Top 30 on the schedule due to my internet being down for about 36 hours.
The #1 show is on now and what a treat to hear 50 years of top of the charts. Great way to spend a week end.

Wow so Future Hits had a pretty good run. Awesome, when did Future Hits get put on the schedule? We used to run that on Sunday mornings at the station I worked at. Hey everyone, I was so surprised to see Future Hits on the schedule as I'm pretty sure I gave those shows to Jeff. I have at least a year's worth between late 1987 and early 1989 on cassette that I recorded on a boom box while I was in high school. I had been experimenting with getting the shows transferred from my cassettes to my computer, but could not figure out how to transfer them in stereo, which is why the shows are in mono. Because of the poor quality, I sort of gave up on the project, though if I could ever figure out how to get them transferred in stereo, and if Jeff was still interested, I'd be happy to resume working on converting them. Those shows would always air on Saturday mornings on KIIS-FM in Los Angeles right before Rick Dees Weekly Top 40 would air, so I'd set my alarm for 5am, press record and fall back asleep. Oh, to be 16 again haha!

VOA Europe also carried other great synddicated radio shows like American Dance traxx, Off the record, The Countdown with Walt Baby Love and Casey´s top 40. Jeff, will on thursday start a new schedule or will we have the opportunity to hear this one from the start again

I am hopeful that when the schedule starts repeating on Thursday that the start time will be different from the start time the first time through. What I mean is I don't record any of the shows, I just listen to them. If a show ran from 2am to 5am last time and it does the same times this next time, I will miss it again. Hopefully the daily times are out of sequence by at least 8 hours one way or the other. I know that most listeners record the shows for later playback, but I'm not the only one who listens to the shows "live".

I wouldn't mind that as there were four RWM episodes I missed, and I was pretty upset about it! But either way, I'm just happy to be listening again. I miss the banter on this board.

Everything seems to be up and running again. Hope your power stays on Jeff. For your family's sake of course, but also for the music. :-) If the top of the schedule starts up at the end of this schedule, then this should be a fairly good timeline. Love the History of Rock N Roll show that is playing now. Looking forward to the MERC Top 100 of 1970. Enjoy the music. Thanks again Jeff.

The next typo I see after that one is Gold Rush #29 is also probably 2 hours.
