Obviously, we love countdowns here at The X and WBME for that matter. WBME started in 2011 playing a wide variety of countdown shows. Now we at The X play shows never before played anywhere else.
My question is if you "peek" at the countdown list for a show before it airs, or do you wait and just listen to be surprised like we used to be when hearing for the first time?

For Tuesday Caseys I always do, because I have the corresponding R&R chart ready to reference if/when needed. Obviously this excludes the late 2000/2001 period where they didn't directly use R&R. For Shadoe, I sometimes do and sometimes don't. Whether or not is pretty much a coin flip, LOL. American Dance Traxx, of course, doesn't have them available. Listener Depot will vary (though many of those won't be available either).

For example, I really have to check out at least Shadoe's chart that week to pick the extras, but truly I'd rather be surprised, so I'll be voting no!

No I don’t before I listen. I look at cue sheets/lists when available while I am editing/listening to shows to help ensure that all of the segments of a particular show are intact and so I don’t miss a part in which I have to make an edit. If a show airs on WGXX or just any station and I have the cue sheet/list for it, occasionally it doesn’t follow exactly like what the cue sheet says and I often freak out. But there were also times where the cue sheet/list was the fault and it drove me nuts too! I hate the sloppy editing of shows with a burning passion. Over the years, I have had to deal with crossfading of intro/outro jingles, altering the version of a song that was played on a show, removing certain parts of a show (an original AT40 70s special/extra, the WT40 challenge address for example), removing some of the original network ads while leaving others in and so much more. AAAAAHHHH! end of rant
