I believe it is called the Radio 1 R=A=P Exchange. roadrunner would have more info on it I would think. The file submitted times out to 3:16 so not sure if it's 3 or 4 hours.

The file submitted times out to 3:16 so not sure if it's 3 or 4 hours. That to me sounds like a show that would normally be 4 hours, but a copy of something like that that wouldn't have ads would go down to about that length. But then, if it does have any kind of ads included, then obviously I have no idea.

Usually it was a 3 hour show. Luckily I could receive BBC Radio 1 because it was transmitted on satellite. It was without internet the possibility to get the most progressive sounds of the 90s from hip hop to house/dance music to my home...Beside Tim Westwood with the CCrap show The essentail mix/selection was always great to listen to and showed wich wide spectrum 90s music had beside pop music..
Nearly all of my music is on these old fashioned cassette tape recorded direct from radio back then - so there might be some minutes more on it. I transformed the tape recording justsome weeks ago to mp3. For this reason the quality of the tape is still pretty good after 24 years...

I checked the file again and it had some extra padding at end, so it's def a 3 hour show for inquiring minds that want to know....

I'd like to know a little more info on the American Dance Traxx show All I know from previewing it, it's hosted by Jeff Wyatt and covers 1978-1987. I think it aired originally in 1990 as a special. roadrunner supplies all the American Dance Traxx shows, maybe he can provide more info.

That to me would sound like something that would be more timely for airing in 1988, not unless there's some kind of references either in the show or in ads that do put it in 1990 (but even if that's the case, I'd still be wondering why wait until 1990 for a special with that timeframe).

It is a Special program top 1980's decade Special program January 7, 1988.

I've got a copy of this show and I think it was originally aired in the last half of 1987 and then aired again in 1990. It tries to give a history of dance in that 10 year period of 1978-1987. It plays about 3 songs per year chronologically picking the ones that were most influential in changing the direction of dance.

See yeah, either or both of those make more sense. I see "1990" and I'd end up thinking, XX/XX/90.

That "Decade Of Dance" was a show that ONLY aired on Hot 97 New York & was hosted by future host "Downtown" Julie Brown hence the confusion of it being an American Dance Traxx show.

The 11/11/89 Dance Traxx show must've been from a bad LP set because I noticed a few skips but especially in the Jody Watley song where one line was repeated 5 times before it skipped on.

This show is the first of "new"shows I got from somebody who is a collector of this old shows, but has not the professional equipment to create high quality mp3 copies. So there might be minor mistakes on the upcoming "new" shows. The other shows we already heard the past months were from a profissional Deejay...

I am in touch with another collector who happens to have some American Dance Traxx shows. I am planning on getting the Top 30 of 1989 & The Decade of 1980's (Decade of 1980's show might be different from the Decade of Dance show) Is that all we need from this collector?

After last week, I went in and cleaned up this weeks show some, hopefully will be a better experience. I dont have a lot of DJB from roadrunner so those would be best. When did she take over the show?
