I'm just gonna say it, tongue firmly placed in cheek:
Are we gonna see a schedule of every show being aired for the remainder of the year? (joking)

Lol, no. I am letting him handle when everything comes out. That's why the schedule reads the way it does.
I will say, I am not sure how I am handling Christmastime this year. Of its the same, there will be no shows from Thanksgiving to Christmas. Maybe the week following, the ones that should be aired can be played in a marathon!

Here are the extras for this Wednesday show (rebroadcast of 8-5-89) Hour #1: "It's Not Enough" - Starship Hour #2: "One" - Bee Gees Hour #3: "Running Down A Dream" - Tom Petty Hour #4: "Bust A Move" - Young MC I plan to announce them no later than 2 days before the airing. I see you used 3 of my choices, I guess you just couldn't go with Milli Vanilli even though it was the Hot 100 top debut. So I'm guessing like the 70's & 80's shows they are going with a chart near the day of the current week so would next week's choice be 8/13/88 Shadoe's 1st AT40?
EDIT 2 choices I was thinking I used "Bust A Move" but I picked "Hey Ladies" thinking it peaked lower & needed play plus as the song says "It's Funky'.

Yes it will be the way the 70's and 80's shows are done with a chart near the current week. I will lean though toward shows that have not been heard on WBME before. The extras, let's just say, you never know what they all could be! I see Milli Vanilli was the highest debut of the week, but just like the 70s and 80s shows, sometimes they are not the extras. That song will appear at the very least on the countdown down the road. pS I did not go with Beastie Boys either EDIT: I remember now why I did not go with Milli Vanilli, it was because they already had a song in the countdown.

I'm gonna import my Pump & Dump feature om the AT40 Board for here. The rules are for the Pumps they missed the Top 20 & I think they deserve airplay. The Dumps are songs I just don't/didn't care for, thought the artist did better or just heard it so much then that I don't care to hear it anymore. That said I'm gonna try to not have many Dumps especially with the early 90's shows where I could put 4-5 of the "so-called" alternative acts that filled AT40 after they changed from the Hot 100. OK here we go There is only 4 songs that didn't crack the Top 20 but I really have no opinion on Stevie B, Michael Damian & Sweet Sensation. Here's my pick "Me Myself & I" by De La Soul "I liked it back then & still do. In fact the whole "3 Feet High & Rising" album was good with it's clever use of obscure samples from all genres). Now I'm not gonna pick a dump but I'm sure everybody thinks WHAT? not Milli Vanilli well I hate to say it but I still have both cassettes of them & a promo CD of their 4 hits which is probably collectable now. Then there is New Kids On The Block again I can actually stand "Hangin' Tough" it was the ballads that got old for me. PS I see you followed up AT40 The 80's last month with 3of4 weeks having a update, a LDD or playing "St. Elmo's Fire" while giving updates on the "Man In Motion" by it being a LDD this week.

Jeff, count me among (what I hope are) many who is glad AT40: The Shadoe Stevens shows are being aired! Nicely done today with August 5, 1989. Some great songs in there I have not heard for years (Buffalo Stance, 18 And Life, etc.); songs that were heard many times during their day and now largely forgotten. Thank you so much for all the great work you and your staff have done! Looking forward to many more of these shows!

Adam gets all the credit. He provides the shows, voices the open and the extras... So while I agreed to air them Wednesdays, he gets all the rest of the credit!
As for lost hits, check out our music mixes. MANY of the lost songs get played here!

Thanks for the praise but it's a labor of love. I feel Shadoe did a fantastic job as host of AT40. The 1989-1991 period was especially good. I knew a lot of people felt as I do that the shows should air again somehow. Thanks to Jeff for offering a vehicle to do just that.
Next week's episode will be announced in the next 36 hours.

This is an unneeded question but I will ask anyway. Unlike Premiere you will air guest hosted shows right?

Go on then i'll have a guess at the extra's -1. The One And Only by Chesney Hawkes (#74 heading for #10). 2.There She Goes by the La's (#61 peaking at #49 but a great single), 3.Everybody Plays The Fool by Aaron Neville (#49 peaking at #8) and 4.It Hit Me Like A Hammer by Huey Lewis (#44 peaking at #21) probably get none out of four but some great songs there (Especially the La's )

Here my extra picks. 1. Huey Lewis - It Hit Me Like A Hammer (moved 50-44 on it's way to #21) 2. Bonnie Raitt - Something To Talk About (moved 59-47 on it way to #5) 3. Extreme - Hole Hearted (moved 75-60 on it's way to #4) 4. Luther Vandross - Don't Want To Be A Fool (biggest move on Hot 100 from 92-70 on it's way to #9) Highest debut was Natural Selection w/ Niki Harris which debuted at 58 on it way to #2 but unlike the song said "I Just Could Get Enough Of The Song" & with it being on the chart for 19 weeks I'm sure we'll hear it soon enough

Here's the Pump & Dump for 8/10/91 This week 7 songs missed the Top 20 here's a quick recap of 4 of them Guns N Roses - You Could Be Mine (Until reading the chart I'd actually forgot this song) Nelson - Only Time Will Tell (Had enough of them after their 1st two songs) Robbie Nevil - Just Like You - (Not bad but not as good as song from his 1st album) Salt-N-Pepa - Do You Want Me - (I like it but I like other songs better) These 2 don't really need a pump because they still get rock radio airplay but since they peaked low I'll put them here 1. Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers - Learning To Fly & 2. Black Crowes - Hard To Handle (Both of these deserved to at least go Top 20) Last but not least. 3rd Bass - Pop Goes The Weasel - (Funny video with the diss of Hammer & Vanilla Ice & the combination of samples from Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer", Stevie Wonder's "You Haven't Done Nothin' " & The Who's "Eminence Front" into one funky song) Again I'm going to stay dump free but Bryan Adams was close to being considered. If this was 91 & I was hearing it every couple hours it would've been. PS did you choose this show after the recent should we call it exposure by Lenny Kravitz?

What do you mean by "Pump" and "Dump"?

What do you mean by "Pump" and "Dump"? The "Pumps" are songs that missed the Top 20 that I think should get more airplay today. The "Dumps" are songs that either 1) just don't care for 2) thought the act did better with other songs or 3) heard it enough back then so I don't care if I hear it again. I came up with this for the other board mostly to comment on the lesser chart hits that in some cases are a shame you rarely hear them on stations today. But I came up with the name from a local station that in the 80's used to have a nightly feature where they would play a new song & take listener calls on if they want to "Pump" it or "Dump" it.

Hoping next week for 93 or 94. Great songs in both of those, and I've never heard a Shadoe show from either of those years.

It's sad they had to change from the Hot 100 though. If 93 is picked just look at the difference on AT40 Tag Team's Whoomp! (There It Is) is #38 while on the Hot 100 it's #2.

I stopped trusting the charts once songs started debuting in the Top 5. There was always so much intrigue watching a song climb. Sad we lost that. Even now, songs staying in the Top 40 for 59 weeks and what not. But I know, progress...

GNR should have went Top 20 just due to its inclusion in the mega hit movie "Terminator 2" Liked Nelson - Only Time Will Tell was selected as the theme song to a prom I went to with my old gf. Agree with you about Robbie Nevil - his first album was much better No to your question about Lenny Kravitz - this show was chosen way before Little Lenny's appearance LOL.

Recently while listening through some tapes I found some pieces from a August 90 show I recorded & with the songs was a contest ad celebrating the 20th anniversary of AT40 where Shadoe played a montage a songs. I hope we get a 90 show with one of those ads before the promotion ends. Here would be another cool trick in the next couple weeks do an 88 show & as an extra use "Red Red Wine" by UB40 but go back & get an original clip from 83 introduced by Casey & play it (the best would be the week Casey described how they got their name). Finally, I like the "Flashback" feature I'm surprised they didn't come up with that for Casey. But I remember I didn't care much for the "AT40 Music News" feature which reminds me of the gossip garbage which is one of the many reasons why I don't care for the Seacrest version of AT40.

Did anyone happen to record the 8/5/89 show from last week, and if so would they be willing to help a guy out?
