We've now heard one show from each year available, so I'm predicting 9/23/1989 for next week. Not because I think this will be a standard playing order, but because I have it on good authority that the host has a soft spot for 1989.

I'm with you on that one & then we'll get 10/1/1988 which if you want to hear already you can download from ... well I'll leave it blank because I don't want to get in trouble for posting it. Maybe they'll read this & O.K. it & I'll edit it in later.

The sharing should go in the trading forum but I don't care otherwise.
I do know he plans on mixing things up and not always go in the same order.

I'm glad I'm wrong because I downloaded the 10/1/88 show & listened to most of it. But was kind of hoping to hear the 9/30/89 show as I saw it was listed as being the 1000th show & was interested to hear the flashback to the 1st show before the Top 2 to hear what they played.

Did anyone notice the different mix to Neneh Cherry's "Kisses On The Wind", thought it was cool! This is definitely one of the underrated songs of 1989, I thought it better than Buffalo Stance.

I liked both songs but it was weird that she kind of vanished after this song. They did put out 2 other singles & then she had the version of the Cole Porter song "I've Got You Under My Skin" on the Red Hot + Blue AIDS compilation album that got MTV play of the video & then had another LP Homebrew in 1992 that had hits on the dance chart. Here's a odd little trivia bit on March 11 1989 when Billboard debuted their 1st Hot Hip-Hop Singles chart #5 was Milli Vanilli's "Girl You Know It's True" & later in the year Neneh Cherry's "Buffalo Stance was on it for 4 weeks until they decided it wasn't Hip-Hop & oddest of all in 1990 David Bowie's "Fame 90" was on there because of the remixed version with Queen Latifah

From Homebrew was a great duet with Michael Stipe called Trout.
I played it on my REM episode of the Jeff Michaels Show.

I think what hurt her as much as anything was not having the next album out sooner as the early 90's were a point where a lot of acts came & went with a couple hits & then nothing. I wish a few of todays acts went away that quick especially the lame Disney/Nickelodeon female singers & Idol acts.

Just a couple weeks ago I was listening to some old tapes & I found the 2 Prince songs & the Prince produced medley before the Martika song & #1 Good Vibrations from today's show on one of them along with some other songs recorded from various 90 & 91 shows as I was curious to see how much Shadoe AT40 things I had recorded. Sadly other than various songs I only found the Top 10 from 9/15/91 to be the only lengthy recording.

It's really a shame that the AT40 the 80's series doesn't use the rest of 1988 & 1989 because they miss some really good overlooked songs that don't get much airplay today. They TRIED on the last couple of months of Casey 1988 shows with the extras but it really sounds out of place on a May-June 1988 show to hear an extra from January-February 1989.

This is quite true, I completely agree and have been saying the same thing for years. So we are here to fill the void until when or if "they" come to their senses.

Did anyone else catch that ad for the Polaroid Impulse Camera before #5 where the guy said "It Comes In 4 Colors One For Every Day Of The Week"? I wonder if they wrote it that way or he messed up (because he didn't sound like the smartest tool in the shed).
