His whole first LP is gold! I love the LP cuts The Light Is On and Minstrel Gigolo. Yes, I also love Christopher Cross 1st LP, and Minstrel Gigolo and The Light Is On are great adult contemporary songs.

Here's an interesting fact.
Among the #1 hits that topped the three main countdown charts - Billboard, Cash Box, R&R - in 1984, there were two #1s that reached the top on Cash Box before Billboard. The first one topped Cash Box first, the second topped R&R first - this week's MERC plays host to the latter.
The other, was "The Reflex" - "Time After Time" only spent 1 week at #1 in Cash Box, which allowed Duran Duran to hit #1 sooner (June 16). R&R was last on that one - that wouldn't have topped an R&R countdown until June 30.
"What's Love Got to Do With It" also spent 3 weeks on top in both Cash Box and Billboard, but hit #1 in Cash Box a week sooner. But, of course, she stopped at #2 in R&R.

Music Expert Retro Countdown September 15, 1984. It was No 16 The Glamorous Life by Sheila E. "The Glamorous Life" is a song written by Prince, recorded by singer/percussionist Sheila E. and produced by both. The song has lyrics that reflect a cynicism for the decadence and materialism of the song's protagonist, referred to in the third person, who "wants to lead a glamorous life" that Although she is aware that "without love, it ain't much". "The Glamorous Life" is the title track and closing song on Sheila E.'s debut solo album, which reached number 7 on the U.S. pop charts, as well as number 1 on the U.S. dance charts. It earned two Grammy Award nominations and three MTV Award nominations. It is my memory from my diary. I went to the Sheila E concert Blue Note Tokyo on March 7, 1998, and July 30, 1999. I've been a Sheila E fan since appearing as part of the Minneapolis Sound in the 1980s. Her first three albums seemed to be extensions of the talent that poured from Prince to my mind. I was impressed by how she grew into her sound. The "Sex Cymbal" album truly impressed me, but this Jazzy smooth overtone of percussion-based music takes the cake. I have to say things that I hope she continues to create more music as that She has talent and true inner beauty in my view. It is real music, smooth jazz, inspiration, funk, sophisticated sound. There was an autogCCraph session after the concert, and I got an autogCCraph on Sheila E's T-shirt from Sheila E and E train's band member. It was an epic concert and autogCCraph session. ★My favorite songs. ★ "The Belle of St. Mark" ★"Next Time Wipe the Lipstick Off Your Collar" (Brenda Bennett and Sheila E.)★ "The Glamorous Life" ★"Dear Michaelangelo ★"A Love Bizarre" (Prince and Sheila E.) ★ "Toy Box" ★"Love on a Blue Train" ★ "Sex Cymbal" ★ Private Party (Tu Para Mi)" ★I'll Give You That ★ Who I Am Now ★ Sheila E. & Band - Leverkusener Jazztage, Forum, Leverkusen, Germany (November 10, 2013)

To me, He is alive forever in my heart, so great in his performance. His voice and act in this concert were unforgettable. They have great masterpiece songs from the 1970s to the '80s. I got into the arena early. I was casually walking around when I saw that Philip Bailey was right in front of me. It looked to me that he had just greeted friends there for the show. No one else around me seemed to recognize who he was. But I did. So I approached him, shook his hand, and told him how much I loved him and the band, and that was it. My girlfriend at the time got a hug and kiss on the cheek. Music Expert Retro Countdown October 24, 1987. It is No 39 Hourglass by Squeeze. Squeeze is an English rock band that came to prominence in the United Kingdom during the new wave period of the late 1970s and continued recording in the 1980s, 1990s, and 2010s. In the UK, their singles "Cool for Cats" "Up the Junction" and "Labelled with Love" were top-ten chart hits. Though not as commercially successful in the United States, Squeeze had American hits with "Tempted", "Pulling Mussels" and "Hourglass" and were considered a part of the Second British Invasion. The vast majority of their material is composed of lyrics by Chris Difford and music by Glenn Tilbrook, who are guitarists and vocalists in the band. The duo was hailed as "the heirs to Lennon and McCartney's throne" during the band's initial popularity in the late 1970s. The group formed in Deptford, London, in 1974 and first broke up in 1982. Squeeze then reformed in 1985 and disbanded again in 1999. The band reunited for tours through the United States and the United Kingdom in 2007. In 2010, they issued Spot the Difference, an album of newly recorded versions of older material. The band's first album of all-new material since 1998, Cradle to the Grave, was released in October 2015, followed by another album, The Knowledge, in October 2017. It is my memory from my diary. I went to The Squeeze concert Club Quattro Tokyo on March 22, 1997. It was Unplugged live. Glenn Tilbrook is so good. Great songwriter, guitarist, and singer. When you listen to the song lyrics, you realize how outstanding they were as a band! I love Cool for Cats - by far my favorite song and pop video by this brilliant band. Then Up The Junction, and Annie Get Your Gun, which is also iconic. I love the sweet sounds and harmonic vibrations of The Squeeze. Glenn and Chris are timeless. Music Expert Retro Countdown November 5,1983 No23 BIG LOG by Robert Plant Robert Plant is an English singer and songwriter, best known as the lead singer and lyricist of the English rock band Led Zeppelin for all of its existence from 1968 to 1980. "Big Log" is a song by English recording artist Robert Plant from his second solo album, The Principle of Moments (1983). It was the first single from the album and became his first Top 40 solo hit, peaking at No. 11 on the UK Singles Chart and No. 20 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The song also reached No. 6 on the Billboard Top Tracks chart. Neither of the two words in the title appears in the lyrics. It is my memory from my diary. I went to The Jimmy Page and Robert Plant concert Tokyo Budokan on February 8, 1996. It had proved that Jimmy Page and Robert Plant had a second peak. Jimmy Page peaked in 1973 and then peaked again from 1988-2000 something. Jimmy had amazing playing in 1996. I got blown away that they came back like this in the 1990s. It was incredible, blessed that they toured in the 1990s. Led Zeppelin has like ten versions of every song, and each one deserves a separate listening altogether. And I love the way Robert is using his voice as an instrument, adding some ethnic chanting. It was magical. A perfect example of how music can transcend cultures and musical genres! I think that I was one of the lucky people who were there when I could've watched this concert. It was sober and clean is one of the great of all times. It was a fantastic concert. ★My favorite Led Zeppelin songs ★ Stairway to Heaven ★ Whole Lotta Love ★ Immigrant Song ★ Kashmir ★ When the Levee Breaks ★ Babe I'm Gonna Leave You ★ Heartbreaker ★ Rock and Roll ★ D'yer Mak'er ★ Trampled Under Foo ☆My favorite Robert Plant songs. ☆ I Believe ☆ Tall Cool One ☆ Big Log ☆ Sea of Love <as the Honeydrippers>☆ Rockin' at Midnight <as the Honeydrippers>☆ Ship of Fools Jimmy Page & Robert Plant World Tour 1996 It is setlists. 1, Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You 2, Stairway To Heaven 3, Ramble On 4, What Is And What Should Never Be 5, Custard Pie 6, Heartbreaker 7, Wonderful One 8, The Song Remains The Same 9, The Rain Song 10, Celebration Day 11, NIGEL EATON Hurdy-Gurdy Solo 12, Travelling Riverside Blues 13, Gallows Pole 14, Since I've Been Loving You 15, Whole Lotta Love 16, Going Down 17, Break On Through (To The Other Side) 18, Dazed And Confused 19, THE EGYPTIAN PHARAOHS Ensemble 20, In The Evening 21, Carouselambra 22, Four Sticks 23, Kashmir Encore: 24, Black 25, Rock And Roll Jimmy Page and Robert Plant LIVE in Rio de Janeiro 1996

There is a commentary on Big Log in an old Japanese music magazine. "Big Log" This title does not appear in the lyrics. According to the book, A long-distance driver keeps a record of his driving. It is about the record of love is called "Big Log. Because the freeway came out at the beginning and end of the song, it was named after long-distance driving. It is about the Broken heart songs.

Music Expert Retro Countdown November 15, 1986. No 40 Throwing It All Away By Genesis No 39 Land of Confusion by Genesis "Throwing It All Away" is the seventh track on the 1986 album Invisible Touch by Genesis. It was the second single from the album in 1986, reaching No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 22 in Britain, where it was released as the last single of the album in 1987. In the U.S, it also went to No. 1 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart in October 1986 and the Album Rock Tracks chart in August 1986. The working title was "Zephyr and Zeppo. The song is a soft rock ballad structured around a guitar riff by Mike Rutherford, who also wrote the lyrics. The U.S. single included an edited version of the instrumental "Do the Neurotic" as the B-side. The U.K edition featured the track "I'd Rather Be You. "Land of Confusion" is a song by the English rock band Genesis from their 1986 album Invisible Touch. The song was the third track on the album and was the third track released as a single, reaching No. 4 in the U.S and No. 14 in the U.K in late 1986. It also reached No. 8 in the Netherlands. The music was written by the band, while the lyrics were written by guitarist Mike Rutherford. The song's video featured puppets from the 1980s U.K sketch show Spitting Image. It is my memory from my diary. I went to The Genesis concert Budokan on March 14, 1987. Genesis will always be my favorite band. And I am a big fan of Phil and his solo career. Phil Collins' unique voice is like the brand of Genesis.1980 to 1994 were my favorite years as far as Phil's voice. He still sounds great, and as most singers get old than their range drops just naturally. But the man in these years has unreal pipes as well as being an insanely talented drummer. Tony Banks, The Genius of keyboards, can play anything, and it's flying through the Clouds. And the Virtuoso Mike Rutherford, the love he feels for his Genesis family is impressive. They are all like brothers. And the drummer "Chester Thomson" is the older brother. And I should say that one more thing, It was about lighting rig is the excellence, with over 250 Vari Lites, which I think is still unsurpassed. It remains one of the fantastic concert lighting experiences of all time. They are so unappreciated for their pioneering of the moving lights, which are now everywhere from concerts to TV to awards shows. I still remember it as if it was yesterday, fab memories. And I still love them all as much today as I did then and now. Long live Prog Rock! It was a fantastic concert. ★My favorite songs. ★I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe) ★A Trick of the Tail ★Turn It On Again ★Abacab ★No Reply at All★Mama★Home by the Sea ★That's All★Invisible Touch★Land of Confusion★Tonight, Tonight, Tonight★I Can't Dance GENESIS.Invisible Touch World Tour Budokan March 14, 1987. Music Expert Retro Countdown November 25, 1967. No 25 WILD HONEY by Beach Boys. "Wild Honey" is a song recorded by the American rock band the Beach Boys. Written by Brian Wilson and Mike Love, it was released as the lead single from their 1967 album Wild Honey, with the B-side of the single being "Wind Chimes. The single peaked at number 31 in the U.S. and number 29 in the U.K. It is my memory from my diary. I went to the Beach Boys concert Nakano-Sun Plaza in Tokyo on December 16, 1990. Mike Love's presentation was spot-on in this concert. Mike Love is a founding member of BEACH BOYS, is in charge of lead vocals, and has written lyrics for many timeless masterpieces. As I see things it Carl is a great singer and underrated guitar player, Al Jardine is a key, and Dennis killed it on drums. Bruce added a great keyboard and vocal punch. And, they were smart enough to add some extra players. But ultimately, this was the Wilson family show, and it will never be improved on or matched. Brian Wilson can still make albums and tour better than most of any new musicians now. A true legend and genius. They were just like on record. What a talented set of guys, including the greatest songwriter of them all. Beach Boys Forever. It was a fabulous concert. ★My favorite songs. ★Surfin' U.S.A. ★Surfer Girl ★I Get Around ★Help Me, Rhonda ★Good Vibrations ★Rock and Roll Music ★Getcha Back ★Kokomo ★Hot Fun in the Summertime ★Somewhere Near Japan Beach Boys 409 Shut down, and I Get Around Live Japan 2012

Two additional entries into the "went Top 10 on Cash Box but not Billboard" club from this period.
One's there this week - "Major Tom", which hit the same mark (#10) in R&R on their last chart of 1983. The other hits #9 next week, and unsurprisingly didn't go Top 10 in R&R - that, of course, being "The Curly Shuffle".

1- Coming in 2 weeks is the Top 100 of 1978.
Now... As you know WRFZ in Rochester was our home base from 2016-2020.
And on July 4th, they get an exclusive as BOTH PARTS will air.
At 7am, our usual slot, part 1 will play.
Then after the church service slot at 11, from noon to 4, we will let them air part 2 a week in advance!
This is the only station that's getting to do that. Otherwise Friday July 9th is the first opportunity to hear it.
2- On WBME from July 1 thru the 4th at least (completion of a run through) will be all the year ends we've done so far. Except 78... So 1962-1973 and 1979. We'll let them all run, probably two times, and then head to the next schedule.

With the length of songs we would have had to do a lot of editing to do a top 50. Most of the time unless it's a 60s based show or a group that has a lot of short songs is how we would get a top 50 in.
